If there is one thing I love, its summer scarves. Any scarves, really. Scarves are the perfect accessory because they are a beautiful way to dress up any simple outfit. Lately I’ve been attracted to simple colours and silhouettes, and scarves add the perfect finishing touch. They can add a shot of colour, brighten up your face, or camouflage a bad hair day. And, unlike many other accessories, they are transformative. They can be tied in a staggering number of ways, placed in your hair as a headscarf or hair band, tied on your purse, used as a belt. They are a perfect travel solution if you don’t have a lot of room in your luggage – a few simple go-to basics and several scarves, and you’ll be all set.
Amy Sia is one designer that is making the most beautiful, whimsical, dream-like silk scarves you could imagine. She is an Australian-born, London-based designer who creates digitally printed silk scarves that feel like wearing art. I was lucky enough to snap one up as a “Merry Christmas to me” last December, and despite collaborations with Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters, ordering from her was a absolute delight.
